~Dolls~Mantel~ProjectLine~

Here are a few of my handmade/handpainted dolls.
I made these a while back.
The above doll I stuffed with saw dust.
As a little girl I had a doll stuffed with sawdust..
I remember this because when I tore my doll the saw dust poured out..
My sis tells me I was very hard on my dolls.
*
This doll is wearing a pair of my Granddaughter Isabella's red leather shoes...
*

My mantel is a bit boring this year..but it will do.
*
I made this heart using an old Antique cutter quilt.
A vintage doily, buttons, rick rack.
The photo is of my Grandmother Angela as a young girl..
The paper heart is from 30s sheet music
& trimmed an old silver glass glitter.
*
I love watching old black & white 30s & 40s movies while I work..
*
I call this my Project Line..
I hang things here that I'm working on or projects I intend to work on..
seeing them hanging helps me get them done..
A bit messy but works for me.

Mary, what beautiful dolls. I used to have bunches of them, but I think most have been sold. I used to make dolls all the time with tea dyed muslin. Will have to check boxes and see what's still there. Beautiful eye candy. Everyone thought the paper angel was gorgeous and as usual, asked if I was going to make some-lol. I hope that you are feeling better. You are in my prayers. Love Ya, Pat

Mary,

All of your dolls are beautiful. I never had a rag doll and in fact was never really interested in dolls until I became an adult. I was a tomboy when I was a child. Today I love the old porcelain dolls and rag dolls.

You have such talent, my dear friend and I always enjoy seeing y9our projects.

Hope you are feeling a little better. I keep you in my prayers each day.

Love and blessings,
Mary

So wonderful. I love the dolls. What does your granddaughter think of them? And I love that you are already decorated for Valentines day. Now, tell me, blogger to blogger, where did you get the sheet music? I have seen it used quite often in crafts and for cute queen and party hats, but I don't know where to get it...and the antique glitter...the store where I wanted to get that isn't open right now...did you just get it at a local craft place? Please, tell all.

I am here by way of Ester's place.

Dapoppins, My Granddaughter is not into Dolls..just her Grammy :-}
My vintage sheet music I found at a local thrift, it's from the 30s & 40s.. I also received some for fellow bloggers:
Carole of http://scoundrelsandrogues.blogspot.com/ and
Amy of
http://foursistersinacottage.blogspot.com/
Amy was selling some on Etsy.
My Antique glass glitter belonged to my 96 year old Grandmother. I love this old stuff! The silver does tarnish. Be careful if you find some that is real glass it is sharp and does cut the skin..
You can find glass glitter on eBay.
Hope this helps you.
Thanks for stopping by my blog! ~Mary~

Mary, forgot to mention that I love the mantel and project line. I am so glad to read your Happy Post again. I found my daughter's first Raggedy Anne and Annie and you can tell she dragged them with her every where. They are now 37 years old and I also have the huge ones I made her when she was 6. Wish I could get to them, but they are put away in wall drawers behind a chest of drawers. Love Ya, Pat

Lovely dollies Mary - especially wearing Grandma's little red shoes!!

Great idea to hang your projects - you're so organized.

Hopefully your heat has been restored and you are working in a warm house. I'm thinking of you and wishing you well of course.
Your friend - Mary.

Mary, Yes my furnace is working again...Yeah! It was only off for about 24 hours. It's so wonderful having heat again in my cottage. It's been cold here in Ohio lately but not the -14 degrees (with wind chill) like it was when the furnace went out.
I'm hanging in there. After last week things can only get better!
Hugs & love ~Mary~
