Oh my gosh! I just had to add this photo of Isabella and Samuel. My daughter just sent it to me. Isa & Sam went to a Halloween party as Sally & Jack from The Nightmare Before Christmas. I think they look adorable! I love these precious grand kids SO very much :-}

~My new/old curtains & before/after wall~

I'm crazy about my curtains! I won this fabulous old 40s fabric on eBay. They were a long sofa pillow cover and 3 large pillow covers only $9.99! Can't believe I won them.

I soaked them, then took the long sofa pillow cover and one pillow cover apart and made (with linings) 4 curtains...

2 fireplace curtains and 2 long window curtains. I still have 2 large pillow covers left.

I love the look!!

I found a roll of rose wallpaper at the thrift Tues. for $1.50. So yesterday I papered my red wall in my studio. I LOVE the look! I know I should have painted my cupboards but I just do not have the energy right now. Anyone want to come help me? LOL..

I love having a sink and cupboards in my studio. They are so handy!

~My studio~

This is my studio. I spend many of my mornings/afternoons here. Yes... it's a very cluttered room with so much stuff! Stuff like my tiny vintage sewing machine and favorite fabrics at arms length if I get inspired to create. The ironing board for that never ending item that needs pressing..A TV to listen/watch old 40s black & white movies (or CNN news) while I work. Stuff like my vintage buttons, glitters, paints, ribbons, papers, trims and so much more...My computer for eBay, Etsy, and to chat with you my fun blogger friends! A love seat for that precious "side door" friend who has just popped in to say hello. Scattered around my small cottage is another sewing machine, cupboards filed with fabrics, more buttons, lace, trims and boxes and boxes of stuff. I admit I'm just a craft junkie who's in need of a crafting fix....so this room is a must. Thanks for your time, I'm off to work on a project. ~Mary~ :-}

~Update about Carole~

Today I received a phone call from Carole of Scoundrels and Rouges.. I was shocked to hear from her! She's still in the hospital and will be in there for a while longer. On Monday she will have yet another surgery. She has an infection and they must go in and clean it out. Oh my gosh what she has been through!! She's in so much pain. She says when she tries to take a few steps the pain is just unbearable..With all she's been through she still managed to laugh and we had such a fun conversation. Bless her sweet heart!! I told her about all the comments she has received on her blog asking about her, she was surprised and grateful.. I told her how much you all care about her. Please continue to keep her in your thoughts and prayers. What a wonderful Gal she is!

She had back surgery Oct. 5 and is still in the hospital.

Below is what Amy FourSistersInACottage wrote on her blog about Carole.

Carole from ScoundrelsAndRogues called me today, OH MY FRIENDS, she is still in the hospital and will be until at least next week. They had to take out 3 inches of her spine, her surgery lasted WAY WAY longer than they thought, over 7 and 1/2 hours and her spine they said was like angel hair pasta, just a mess. She won't be able to walk for at least 1 to 2 years and she is in a lot of pain. They tried to get her up to walk and she could only take one step before the pain was so bad that the doctors told the nurses to LEAVE HER IN BED!!!! We are all pulling and praying for you Carole, just get better and we can't wait to see you posting again)

~Sometimes I need a gentle push!~

I was chatting with dear friend Amy FourSistersInACottage I was telling her I'm disappointed with eBay these days and I'm not interested in listing auctions. She says to me "why not try Etsy?" and "Why don't you put your Witch pattern on and give it a try?". I said "Oh I don't know?"...well with her encouragement I listed one pattern. It sold in 15 mins! How about that. Then I listed another and it sold. I was thrilled and so was Amy.. what a Gal! So with Amy's help (and more encouragement) I list a few aprons.. Amy THANK YOU darling I probably would not have listed a thing without your gentle push.. Sweetie you are the best! I wish I had half the enthusiasm you do. You amaze me....... If ever you are down just talk to Amy she will pick you up and get you moving again..

Today we are all here to celebrate Amy of FourSisterInACottage life... She has been suffering thought the devastation of breast cancer. She's touched so many of our lives with her blog journal through her painful and sad experience. We've all laughed and cried right along with Amy through these many months. So Amy we are all here for you today and we just want to say we love and admire you so much.

~What do I love about my COTTAGE/home?~

What I love about my cottage is that it is comfortable. It's a place for me, my precious Grandchildren and family to hang out and just have fun. I love my cottage because I've been able to decorate it on my very slim budget. Most of my treasure were given to me from my Mother, Grandmother, or friends. Many treasures I've found at thrifts, flea markets, eBay, or things I've made. My cottage is not a huge fabulous palace but it's all I need. I keep things around me that I love. Most of these photos are recent, a few are not. I love changing my cottage around..I love the colors pink, & red, roses and anything old tattered, chippy, and old..
