~little stone Chapel on mountain at Von Trapp lodge Stowe, Vermont~

a walk in the woods Von Trapp lodge
 came across this sign..
 resting...on a bench
 lovely little stone Chapel
delightful alter.. rosary hanging from the cross
can you see the paper prayers tucked between the wood beams & stones?
 inside the tiny Chapel
I truly hate having my photo taken
but I was so proud to ring this bell..
Glad someone was there to take this photo..
Hello... Thought I'd post about a lovely experience I had.
My sister invited me to spend a week with her, her son, daughter-in-law &  granddaughter in Vermont at their condo "the Villas" at Von Trapp lodge. Lucky me.. I've always wanted to visit Vermont. So off we went stopping at Turning Stone in New York & spending the night. Then on to Stowe Vermont such a lovely town. The condo was great.. the grounds peaceful. For a week I did alot of resting, reading, a bit of shopping, eating out, & playing with 7 month old Anna & hiking/walking in the woods/mountain. One day I took a walk in the woods came across a sign that said Chapel.. I 'll never forget this lovely little stone Chapel on the mountain..built by Werner von Trapp

Mary, enjoyed the pictures so much. There is a little church like that at Silver Dollar City and I really enjoyed going in it and imagining the people praying there. Really can be touching. Please give Isabella my best wishes for a Happy Birthday. Glad you are home. Love and hugs, Pat

What a fun time for you and to be with family!!!
Isabella's 14; WOW. She has certainly grown : )
The chapel is so calming; I can feel it through the photos. I like the one of your feet resting : )
You were off having a good (well deserved) time as I toil away : )
Glad you got to get away from the madness!!!
Thank you for sharing with us.

Thank you for sharing this, Mary--I did not know it existed--how blessed you were to have been there! Just saw the Oprah show I'd taped about the Sound of Music cast reunion. I cried when the Von Trapp grandchildren sang-so beautiful!

This chapel is now a must for me to see. We live in southern vermont. If you find yourself in Wilmington I own an antique and more group shop called Tallulah's at the junction of Route 9 & route 100 south. 2, 000 sf inside an 1800s barn turned sugarhouse mid-century. Stop in and see us-you won't be disappointed.

This is one of those that just draws a person in to come experience it. Vermont it is, and Tallulah's, next vacation. Maybe before ;)
