~Update on Isabella~

Photo taken of Isabella by Isabella :-}

Handmade splints by Doctor/therapist for two fingers.
Isa & Sam being silly

My 11 year old Granddaughter Isabella was diagnosed with Juvenile rheumatoid arthritis 3 years ago. Because of this disease she's endured flair ups, surgery, test after test, blood work, medications with shots, splints on hands, wrist (now fingers), braces, shoe inserts, therapy 3 times a week and lots of exercise.
She must now go back to extensive therapy on her hands and wear splints on 6 fingers all the time. If she does not do this she could loose the use of her hands/fingers....
For now the Doctor made temporary splints (more to come) until she gets permanent ones.
So far Isabella is fine with all this. Her Mama is worried sick about her. Poor Mama has not been able to sleep. Say a prayer for her too!
So for now Isabella's not in remission, maybe she will be some day. Until then we pray and Isabella works hard to keep active. Bless her sweet heart, shes such a great kid!
Read about this precious 7 year who wears ring splints and whats she been through....

Mary, I will pray for Isabella and her mom. She is so beautiful and each time I see a new picture, I feel like I have known her forever. My son and grandson got their mohawk for the summer only, which my generation of boys did 50 years ago. Love and Hugs, Pat

She is such a brave girl. In her pictures she looks very happy.

I am sending prayers your way - for her, her mom and you.

May she go into remission soon. By the way, I know it is nothing like RA, but splints have really helped my carpal tunnel syndrome. I wear them faithfully every night.

Mary, forgot to say that I just love your new banner. Wish I could do them like you, but most of my tubes are country and cuties. More prayers for Isabella. Love and Hugs, Pat

Isabella is such a beautiful girl!! My little sister (who's 40) was dx with rheumatoid arthritis 4 years ago. I know she has been in a lot of pain and I can only imagine what it must be like for a child. God Bless all of you!

Hi Mary!

I just thought I'd pop by your blog and check it out. :) You have beautiful grandchildren!!! And Isabella looks happy, which is wonderful! I know it can be a struggle for kids who have special medical needs to stay upbeat. Obviously you and her Mother are doing a great job supporting her.

Best of luck with the splinting! Hopefully it will be as helpful as it has been for Bug.

Warmly,
Amy

Hey Mary,
Good to hear from you!!! I love the photos of the kids....Pat's right it does make you feel as if you "know them" when you see their photos. Helps us to pray for them better I think as well because we can "see" them. I know that sounds odd but it's true.

I hate that she's having this flare up. You know I can totally RELATE.....especially since I have been in a battle myself for about the past week. Ugh. This stuff "comes and goes" as it pleases. I don't get it.

I hope she will be doing better soon. Good thing they are "on it" and watching over her.

She's going to be okay. Sounds like she has a very good Dr. that is concerned too!
Keep us posted and I will be praying for her.
I'm thinking of you as well.
Hang in there!!!
Joyce M.
P.S......My nephew just got a mohawk the other day, I dropped him and his sister off at the Mall while I went to physical therapy and when I came to pick them up...there it was. He's made me swear not to tell his Mama....so she can be shocked at the airport when they pick him up Sunday.
EWwwwwww! HA!

The kids look so cute and happy and I know they are in your beautiful garden Mary. Love your plate border edging, teacups and the birghouse fence - your plants looks healthy too!

I was shocked at the cost of the splints - that is unbelievable! I hope things improve soon for Isa, we are remembering her in our prayers daily. What pretty hands and nails she has - and that Sam with his Summer haircut is a cutie pie!

Blessings for the week ahead.
Love, Mary.

Mary, it is very difficult to understand why children have to endure the health issues that should only come to those as they age. I pray for Isabella and for God to make her better. She is such a lovely girl!!
