~My carbon footprint~

This morning as I walked to the grocery store
about 8 city blocks away
using the above cart
(today it held $43.96 worth of food)
I use no plastic or paper bags..
I got to thinking about my carbon footprint
on the world..
So I visited the site below.
Check out Carbon Footprint
Here is my carbon footprint results:
Your footprint is 0.83 tonnes,
which equates to 10.42 tonnes per year
The average footprint for people
in United States is 20.40 tonnes
The average for the industrial nations is about 11 tonnes
The average worldwide carbon footprint is about 4 tonnes
The worldwide target to combat climate change is 2 tonnes
We all must work harder to decrease our tonnes.
Go green!

Good for you, Mary! I can do this. Where did you get your cart liner. I have a cart a little larger than that I could use. Our grocery store is even closer than yours.

Love the cart, it would make shopping for groceries fun...almost!

Miss Jean, I made the liner for my old cart using a vintage cotton barkcloth curtain.
I made what looked like a long large lined pillowcase. I then placed it inside the cart.. I tucked the 2 corners toward the inside sewing them in place..I then sewed the top edge onto the cart.
Give it a try! ~Mary~

I can't wait to find out what mine is.
I just read the beautiful words to your daughter and the poem on your sidebar. Just awesome! Nikki is beautiful and when you see her again she will thank you for your love and for being her mother.
Hugs,
June

Well Mary......you are AWESOME!!
I hate to see my "carbon footprint" I am sure mines bigger than Sasquatche's....ugh.
Partly because I drive a nice big TRUCK.

Thank you for being so aware of this issue! That's great that you can walk to the store.....living in the BIG city I am in...we can't. But I do walk all the stores in my local area plaza. HA!
Talk to you soon!

Mary, love the cart, but even 8 blocks would give me an angina attack, much less 6 miles in fast traffic. Going to check out the link. Hope mine is not too bad. Sam and Isabella look so scary as the rest do. Happy Trick or Treating. Love and hugs, Pat
