~What do I love about my COTTAGE/home?~
Karla is hosting a "What do I love about my house" party.. Stop by her blog & check it out.
What I love about my cottage is that it is comfortable. It's a place for me, my precious Grandchildren and family to hang out and just have fun. I love my cottage because I've been able to decorate it on my very slim budget. Most of my treasure were given to me from my Mother, Grandmother, or friends. Many treasures I've found at thrifts, flea markets, eBay, or things I've made. My cottage is not a huge fabulous palace but it's all I need. I keep things around me that I love. Most of these photos are recent, a few are not. I love changing my cottage around..I love the colors pink, & red, roses and anything old tattered, chippy, and old.. Hope you have enjoyed your visit to my cottage ~Mary~ :-}

~Prayers desperately needed for Ronnie~
Friends yesterday I got some very sad news. My very dear friend Ronnie has cancer. He's like a brother to me and his wife Sherryl like my sister...For more information please stop by Jason's blog he's Ronnie & Sherryl son. He needs our thoughts and prayers too right now. He's the kindest most loving child and he's like the son I never had... My heart goes out to Jason. I just can't believe this. Tomorrow we will know more. I'm asking you to please keep Ronnie Sherryl and Jason in your prayers.. Thank you so very much. God bless you~Mary~

~gifts for "The Queen"~
Do any of you happen to remember the TV program Queen for a Day?
These lovely treasures are from my dear friend Mary of Across the Pond.
How creative she is! The Queen is a wood box with "it's good to be Queen!".
Check out these fabulous tags, one with Queen and a tiny clothespin. The other has a metal "wish" tag with her special wish. There is also a magnet with the cute saying "Twinkle Twinkle in your eyes" are you an angel in disguise? Plus a sweet book mark with teapot.

~Here's Lucy :-}~
2 days ago I came home to find this cute pigeon sitting in my front yard.. Lucy (my Daughter named her) has been here ever since. My Daughter found out she is a racing homer pigeon from St. Clair's Shores in Michigan 225 from here (Ohio). With the info from her band and the help of American Union she found her owner. She left a message and we are hoping we will hear from him. She looks like she is exhausted! This morning I woke up to hear her pecking at my front window..We have found her on top of the roof of the car, on top my cottage, on my front & side porch and in the middle of our road.. We have put out water & seeds for her. I hope she will be Ok..

~Samuel & Isabella~
Isabella is doing better. It's been a month since her surgery, her leg is finally healing. She's back on all her juvenile rheumatoid arthritis medications. She goes to 2 therapies twice a week for 2 hours. Saturday was Isa & Sam's parents 14 th wedding anniversary so they were able to spend a few hours with me. They are so busy theses days... Sam with football and Isa with volleyball, I seldom get to see them. I enjoyed their visit even with Sam on his game boy & Isa on my computer.. How they make me laugh!

~my thrift finds~
My sweet friend invited me to go to the thrift yesterday. With $12.00 to my name off I went. Glad I did. Look what I found to add to my old English cottage collection. $1.50 for the 40s framed print $1.50 for the made in Japan teapot.... 20 cents for the old bird, 40 cents for the porcelain rose frame. After the thrift we went for a yummy lunch of hot Italian subs, fries, & a cola. I came home with $5.00! How about that. What a fun day it was spending time with a good friend..LOL..

~The MIDDLE Name Game~
Middle Name Game per Carole
I was tagged by Carole of Scoundrels and Rogues for the name game.
Here are the rules for those that choose to follow them:
Players, you must list one fact that is somehow relevant to your life for each letter of your middle name. If you don’t have a middle name, use the middle name you would have liked to have had. When you are tagged you need to write your own blog post containing your own middle name game facts. At the end of your blog post, you need to choose one person for each letter of your middle name to tag. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.
My middle name: LOUISE
L= Loyal
O= Open minded
U= Unselfish
I= Inquisitive
S= Sincere
E= Emotional

~second try at a paper rose~
Here's my second attempt at making a paper rose (on right). The first one (on left) I did all wrong..I dyed my coffee filters first for the second rose because I had no more pink watercolor paint. I then went to Martha Stewart's site and found the video & closely watched it. I just think with these practice makes perfect. Cassie Chappell's roses from Mommy Makes Roses are fabulous because she has made so many..Instead of using colored paper for my leaves I used coffee filter paper and then hand painted the leaves with watercolor paint.
"if anyone is making these out there would you please let me know? I'd love to see them"~Mary~ :-}
