~My playing card Art Doll~

Here's my first try at making a paper Art Doll. It stands 17" tall.. Made from 3 kinds of vintage playing cards, one was round..30s sheet music, vintage ric rac trim and parchment paper. It was fun!

The hip bone is connected to the knee bone and the knee bone is connected to the ankle bone :)
Like the little grommets holding him together. First time, I think you did an excellent job! Miss Crafty, is there anything you can not do ? :)
I think you must lie awake nights because your brain has so many wonderful ideas...

You did a great job on this Mary - it reminds me of Sandra Evertson's great paper art. She wrote me recently and when I visited her blog there was a neat "flapper lady" she was sharing. I downloaded and made a card for my art pal in Washington State - I'll post it soon so you can see.
Love all the stuff your daughter gave you - she has great taste - wish we could meet up and scrap together!
Hope to have your little parcel on its way by Thursday - the heat is so intense here (105 today!) that it's been hard to even venture outside.............

Well, well first try? Looks like a pro to me! That is adorable, I'd never have thought of a card for use, but then I don't really do paper art yet! Lori

I love this! The graphic detail with blacks and reds always make me happy when they're together! I love the shoes too....

Oh, how cute! I'm always wondering what to do with all the extra playing cards I have laying around. You know the bent edged ones, from when granddaughter & I play Go Fish & War!!
