~my Wisteria~

Iowa Gal you asked: I was wondering what kind of vine you have growing on the roof of your deck? We live in Iowa and do you think it would survive the winters?
The vine you see here on my deck is Wisteria. These photos were taken last year in the spring when in was in bloom. It has gorgeous long lavender flowers with a strong lovely smell. Yes it will grow in Iowa I live in Ohio...

Hi Mary,
Oh my goodness...your cottage is so lovely. I am not suprised as it goes with the whole package, Sweet Mary...Sweet Cottage:) A real treasure chest!! I LOVE your Wisteria. I have had a plant for 4 years now and she grows beautiful green foliage but she never blooms:( Not sure what I am doing wrong but if ya have any secrets please pass them along. Thanks for sharing your "Home Sweet Home" with us.
Hug Life, Marylou:)

The wisteria is beautiful & I'll bet it smells like heaven when it blooms.

Mary, your patio deck is beautiful. I have a different Wisteria---the evergreen that blooms in summer, but leaves stay on and the wisteria is a deep purple with a smell that you can smell a block away. I am hoping to dig one up and bring it here where I am living.
